RazorBee is a new breed of device in the net-top segment and aptly named as web console. The web console is based on low cost, low power yet powerful hardware and offers a browser-based platform with built in engines for Web 2.0, offline and collaboration functions. RazorBee provides industry standard HTML based User Interface which is tailor made for the specific persona. Avoiding proprietary platforms makes RazorBee flexible and future-proof for deployment of solutions.

The user interacts with RazorBee through a simple remote control device with touchpad and cell phone type text entry keypad (ITU). Other forms of text entry include QWERTY remote, Onscreen keyboard and Wireless keyboard.

RazorBee directly communicates with service specific end-servers (Google, Yahoo, Wikipedia etc.) without the need for any proxy/server in between. Many of the adaptation and mash-ups are done in the device itself. Ariem’s RazorWeb server stores centralized information like user interface files, user database, policies, statistics etc. and provide seamless software updates to the device.

RazorBee provides local storage for storing content offline, Ethernet for network connectivity and two USB interfaces for adding additional hardware like storage, cellular data card or webcam. Any existing Television or projector can be used as the display device for RazorBee.
